Pittsburgh
2018
In 2018 my partner and I moved to Pittsburgh, and I finally feel at home again. It may not be the biggest city, but Pittsburgh is perfect for me. I am especially inspired by the contrast between new construction and urban decay that is prevalent everywhere in the city. Pittsburgh has constantly been growing and changing throughout its history, and it has the layers to prove it- I want to peel back those layers and take pictures of them!
2019
2019 was a good picture year for me, it was so fun and exciting to be living somewhere new and really getting into a social & work routine. Having new places to walk around, new shops and restaurants to visit, and sunsets that were almost as good as the ones in Grand Haven- what more could one ask for? I think it is easier to feel inspired to take pictures when our surroundings are new/unfamiliar to us, but it can also be difficult to take a good picture when you want to capture everything novel and eye-catching.
2020
I was 100% convinced on January 1, 2020, that this was going to be my year/decade. I was filled with all sorts of positive aspirations and visions of personal growth, and feeling really good about myself and where I was at in life! Then we progressed a little further into 2020 and all that went away very suddenly. In comparison to 2019, this was a horrible year for pictures.
